Zeekr 007 Review: 870km electric range, 0-100 km/h in 2.84s

The Zeekr 007, recently launched by the Zeekr brand as a pure electric sedan, offers a variety of options with 9 different versions available. Despite the variety, the models are fairly easy to navigate, grouped by rear-wheel drive, dual-motor all-wheel drive, and battery sizes of 75 kWh or 100 kWh, delineating into rear-drive, smart rear-drive, all-wheel drive, smart all-wheel drive, and performance all-wheel drive versions.

Exterior

The Zeekr 007 varies in dimensions slightly depending on the model, with most models measuring 4865x1900x1450 mm and the performance all-wheel version slightly larger. However, all models share a wheelbase of 2928 mm. It boasts a minimalist "Hidden Energy" design with a sleek, understated aesthetic. Instead of the typical "big eyes" style of Zeekr family, it features a popular streamlined, penetrating front light design, with high-end models offering an integrated intelligent light curtain with 1711 LED beads, controlled by 75 high-power chips, supporting multiple personal patterns. The vehicle's logo is cleverly integrated into the light assembly, enhancing its technological feel. The side of the car continues with a low resistance design, petal wheel hubs, and a fastback design, providing a sporty and luxurious look. The door handles vary between models, with some featuring hidden handles and others equipped with embedded door buttons on the C and D pillars, indicating the visual distinction among different configurations.

Interior

The interior of the Zeekr 007 is streamlined and sophisticated, free of excessive physical buttons. The steering wheel mirrors that of the ZEEKR X, and the inclusion of a 13.02-inch curved LCD instrument screen and a 15.05-inch floating central control screen adds a modern touch. The roof is lined with Microfiber microfleece, and the all-wheel smart drive version seats are wrapped in Nappa leather, indicating luxury and quality. The overall interior is high-end and lavish.

Performance

The Zeekr 007 is based on an 800V architecture, offering both rear-drive single motor and all-wheel drive dual motor versions. The rear-drive version produces up to 422 Ps and 440 N·m of torque, while the all-wheel version pushes out 646 Ps and 710 N·m. The performance for the rear-drive single motor version is 0-100 km/h acceleration in 5.6 seconds, and the all-wheel dual motor performance version accelerates from 0-100 km/h in just 2.84 seconds.

Battery and Range

The vehicle is equipped with Geely's self-developed 75.6kWh lithium iron phosphate battery and 100.01kWh ternary lithium battery, offering a maximum pure electric range of up to 870 km under CLTC conditions. The battery also supports a high charging rate, with a 15-minute charge increasing the range by over 500 km in the 10%-80% fast charge interval.

Technology and Features

Zeekr 007 comes standard with a comprehensive suite of safety features and L2 level driving assistance systems. It's equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 chip for the vehicle system, providing double the overall performance and triple the 3D rendering performance compared to the previous 8155 chip. For higher models, dual NVIDIA DRIVE Orin chips for assisted driving are included, offering substantial AI computing power. These advanced chips not only address previous criticisms of the brand's vehicle systems but also cover a wide range of intelligent and technological scenarios.

In summary, the Zeekr 007 stands out in its segment with its comprehensive capabilities, particularly with its 800V architecture and Snapdragon 8295 chip. Starting at a competitive price point of 209,900 yuan and equipped with numerous intelligent features, it holds a strong competitive edge in today's intense market. Its dynamic exterior and refined interior align well with the aesthetic preferences of the younger demographic. Overall, the Zeekr 007 is a potential trendsetter in the market.
